Mission

an inclusive association of piano teachers-past, present, and future; dedictated to providing social, educational, and performance opportunities for teachers and students. We believe that music, and piano in particular, is beneficial to the individual and the community as a whole.

The purpose of A.P.T. is to provide an informational and social network for piano teachers and their students.

Calendar 2009/10 and Notes

September 14, 10a.m. - Our Music Salon was held at the Sheldon House to a full audience. Participating on piano were Andrew Schmidt, Julie Hewit, Jenni D'Angelo, Rosemary Mackown, Ashley Harrison, Val Nunn, Ruth Dodds, Bob Leon, and Gail Grundstrom. Instrumentalists included Eric Grundstrom and Jenna Anderson on violin, Dan Johnson on cello, and Kim Bunce on flute. Vocalists included Melanie Gritters, Laura Hotchkiss, Gail Grundstrom, and a quartet from the Sweet Adelines. Refreshments were provided by Ruth Dodds. All feedback has been very positive and we will anticipate our next salon being September 10, 2010. Be thinking of who you know who might be invited for the next program. At the all Member Meeting at Ruth's, revised Syllabus, Handbooks, Brochures, and Open Recital forms were distributed. Dues were collected. The salon was discussed with the conclusion to continue targeting the first Friday after Labor Day. Ruth will make the reservation for the Sheldon house. The tentative schedule was accepted with the change of the October workshop from October 12th to Monday, October 26th as several members were not available on the 12th. The master class will be arranged between Rosemary and Cindy with Jonathan Mann from Fredonia being asked to conduct the session. Names of qualifying students were submitted. APT will cover the costs. Additional social activities such as ensemble or solo playing within the group, as well as an introduction to the music of Rosemary's mother were discussed.
